Recently, I visited a newly built house and noticed several long hairline cracks on the walls.

The photos below show cracks on the walls of a newly built house. While these cracks are not ideal, they can often be repaired with crack filler and repainting because house walls are not designed to hold water.
A swimming pool is a completely different type of structure.
A pool is a watertight engineered structure designed to contain tens of thousands of liters of water 24 hours a day. Once filled, the concrete shell is subjected to tremendous hydrostatic pressure. Even a small crack can become a pathway for water to escape, potentially leading to leaks, deterioration, and costly repairs.
This is why swimming pool construction requires specialized engineering and craftsmanship. Every stage—from structural design, reinforcement, concrete placement, waterproofing, and hydraulic systems to finishing—must be executed with precision.
Cutting costs on labor or materials may reduce the initial price, but it greatly increases the risk of leaks, structural issues, and expensive repairs later.
